Pat Buchanan Can Win - Go Pat Go!

Date:   January 7, 2000
To:      Editor:  NW Florida Daily News

CNN, The Weekly Standard, National Review and others have chosen to demonize Pat Buchanan, candidate for Reform Party presidential nomination, using his new book A Republic, Not An Empire.   Unable to find damaging quotes from the book, they chose to fabricate new policies for him.

For example, A. M.Rosenthal wrote in the New York Times (9/2/99) that Buchanan's "new book does not hide his belief that it would have been better if Nazi Germany had won the war." Buchanan did not say that or even suggest it in the book. Nothing could have been further from the truth.

The Reform Party's platform is close to Buchanan's beliefs concerning trade, America First, etc. The Reform Party's stand on social issues is that the party members respect the positions of the candidates and a specific set of beliefs is neither a requirement nor a barrier to nomination as the party's standard bearer.

Buchanan states in his book that US Foreign policy should be limited to vital national interests and therefore he was opposed to our sending troops into Kosovo. He is l00% pro-life (Gore, Bradley, Bush and McCain are not). He is opposed to the job-robbing NAFTA, GATT, WTO. Last year Americans lost thousands of jobs to Mexico and other countries.

Buchanan CAN be elected to the presidency if all his supporters join the Reform Party and attend their state's conventions. Florida's convention will be held January 22-23 in Tampa. Call Buchanan headquarters at 703-734-2700 for more information.
