STOP MISLEADING THE PUBLIC
Date: January 26, 2000
To: KANSAS CITY STAR, ALL TV BROADCAST
NEWS MEDIA, LOCAL AND NATIONAL, ALL MISSOURI REPUBLICAN ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES
I read the headline this morning and heard
about the same on most broadcasts, "Texas Gov. George W. Bush won in
Iowa." This is not true. Texas Gov. George W. Bush lost in Iowa.
THE IOWA RESULTS... REPUBLICANS
George W. Bush...41%
Steve Forbes...30.5%
Alan Keyes...14.3%
Gary Bauer...8.5%
John McCain...4.7%
Orrin Hatch...1%
George W. Bush only got 41% of the vote of the Republicans. While 59% of the Republicans voted against George W. Bush.
How can anyone call George W Bush a winner, when 59% of his own party
voted against him? No one knows how those 59% will vote when it comes to
election day. They may feel as strong and vote against George W. Bush as
they did about his dad when they turned him out of office after only one
term. George W. Bush did not win anything, he lost. He needed 51% of the
votes cast before he or anyone else can call him a winner. No one is a
winner when 59% of the American Public votes against you. He is a loser,
and that is where, I am sorry to say, that the Republican Party is going
to be if the leaders continue down the same road that they are headed.
Wake up America! This is only another ploy of the News Media misleading
the American Citizens.
PS: Does it really matter who wins? The lobby with their black bags will
continue to make all of the decisions anyway.
Sincerely,
William D. Wilkerson - Retired
