        John O'Sullivan, editor-at-large of National Review, has written a brilliant article making a case for and advocating a Buchanan run on the Reform Party ticket. O'Sullivan's concluding words are "Go Pat Go"! I believe O'Sullivan is right, and I will vote for Pat on the Reform Party ticket regardless of all the heavy-hitter (Rush Limbaugh et al) Republican propagandists who fatalistically say that any third party ticket in 2000 is doomed to do no more than guarantee a Democrat victory in 2000.

        I've been giving this a great deal of thought recently, as I know you at HQ have as well, and I have concluded that Pat should absolutely leave Mr. Nichols and the GOP in the dust. This morning I received a phone call from the RNC wanting my contribution. And I informed them that I had no respect any longer for their unprincipled leaders, and that I would be backing Pat Buchanan all the way, even if it means switching parties for the first time in 22yrs, to the Reform Party, so that I could back him in the Oregon primaries! My wife is the President of the local Republican Women's organization, and serves on the Oregon Federation of Republican Women as well. Together we've had a long history of supporting the ideals of Republicanism, both with our time and our money. But we've both grown weary of the lack of willingness on the part of our party's leadership to face the tough issues that are currently a threat to our very freedom! It's truly time for a real choice, not between the lesser of two evils, but for what is honest and right! Fight Pat Fight!!! And as Winston Churchill once remarked, "Never....never give up!"

        The Republicans don't deserve Mr. Buchanan. In a day where politics has become a national soap opera, Buchanan remains focused. He possesses a legitimate following and presses forward with a message that is a historical winner. All he needs is a presidential stage to convey these ideas to mainstream America.   I certainly have enjoyed his intellect and good humor through the past years and believe his message is best classified as inspirational. It compels those who listen to recall the famous words of the great Irish poet Bernard Shaw who wrote, "If not us, then Who? And if not now, When?"

It seemed that even the distinguished Bob Novak was short-circuiting over the socially liberal Pat Choate gushing so much in favor of Pat running in the Reform Party.
