The Rush Limbaugh Show!

Note: These messages are in response to Pat Buchanan's appearance on the Rush Limbaugh Show...

Dear Pat,
A super terrific long-overdue hour with Rush this morning. Such coherent give and take clarifies your views for those millions of Rush fans. Let's have more!
-- Del McLaughlin - San Francisco Bay Area

Dear Brigade,
I Heard Pat on Rush Limbaugh in Philadelphia today. Excellent Dude!
       -- Bruce Bradway

Dear Mr. Limbaugh,
Thank you for airing the excellent interview with Pat Buchanan. It was inspirational. You asked some tough questions but, as ever, Pat had the right answers. Go, Pat, Go! Sincerely,
-- Barbara Meskill - Hilton Head Island, SC

Dear Linda,
This is the first time in my life I have heard old Rush at a loss for words. What a show! I enjoyed today's show and it is clear to me that if ever Pat could get on the podium with Bush and Gore in debate he would win hands down and probably win the election. What a breath of fresh air!

Here is my letter to Rush from a few days ago:
"Dear Rush, You're losing me fast...   This long-time Republican has two masters degrees and a longer life span with the Republican party than you. The simple fact is that the Republican Party does not deserve Pat Buchanan. Its talking heads and elites have trashed him long enough, they have denied him a podium in spite of his loyalty and all he has done for the party over the years...   He is the only one, who talks clearly, straightforwardly and honestly. I don't agree with him on every point but he is man of integrity who towers above his peers who would demolish either Bush or Gore in any debate hands down. He doesn't deserve your scorn. It is refreshing to know where someone stands on things...
-- Richard Cross, MA - Mississippi Brigade

Dear Linda,
Patrick did an outstanding job. Rush needs to have other Presidential candidates on his program and attempt to pin them now the same way he went after Buchanan. During this election we need an open, robust public discussion of the issues to see where people really stand and what they really believe. Not some 3 minute sound bites controlled by "handlers and spin control" artists. People are sick of the pollsters and the media heavies telling us what we really should believe and do. No doubt Buchanan can handle his own.
       -- George Schaefer

Dear Linda,
What a great conversation between Rush Limbaugh and Pat Buchanan! Rush really believes the GOP can be changed from the inside. I think Pat made a very compelling case for the opposite assertion. He spoke about how the majority of Republicans are in cahoots with the globalists who are selling out our industrial base, and the International banking mandarins that are robbing American taxpayers blind. He got all over Rush about calling the belief that the CFR and Trilateralists are after world domination "conspiracy theory bunk". GOPATGO!
-- Carl Robinson - Milwaukie, OR

Dear Linda,
Ol' Rushbo got smoked by the champ, PJB!...    I followed Ronald Reagan into the Republican Party in 1976 because of his beliefs. If necessary, my wife and I will follow Pat out of the Republican Party to support his beliefs! I'm am a union card carrying public worker who served 3 terms as an elected official of the Lucas County Republican Party (Ohio). I'm tired of being stereotyped as a kook, or worse, naive by people such as Rush because I support Pat. (Limbaugh, of all people, should know better) Rush who I've supported and defended since 1988, could end up being the odd man out! Remember political maxim #1, Protect your base, Rush! GO PAT GO
       -- James K. Tebary

Dear Pat,
I have been one of those who had grown cold of listening to the George Bush Show a.k.a. Rush Limbaugh on a daily basis. It was refreshing to hear your voice on his program...  Your ideals are important to the prosperity and future of our nation - and to my little four-year-old son's generation - so I once again am with you 110%...   I salute your will to go to the lion's den for the American citizen, over and over again, to shout out your modern day Paul Revere warning.

In my opinion,Rush's show equals conservative kindergarten. He talks the talk, yet when faced with a candidate who will deliver, he shirks out of supporting you -- THE HEIR TO THE REAGAN LEGACY. Had George Bush followed the conservative mantra with his actions, he handily would have been re-elected and CLINTON would have been dragging $100 bills through trailerparks with his friend Carvill.    I was impressed by your interview on Matt Drudge recently, and instead of listening to Rush so much, I intend to listen in on Drudge more. It was refreshing to see a young man in his position responding with support. Thank you for all you do for our nation! We look forward to your taking the oath of office- which you richly deserve!
       -- Clay Dalton

Dear Linda,
He's OUR man Linda, no doubt about it. Whew! That was one fast hour. I trust him to do the right thing GO Reform Party!
       -- Bard

Dear Linda,
It was a great interview. I think it was a wonderful opportunity to reach a massive audience and PJB made the best of it. Rush is a good guy just wrong thinking sometimes. I believe PJB converted a lot of people this day!
-- Ed McCreary - Wentworth, NC

Dear Linda,
I thought the interview was fair, by and large, although I don't think Rush got around to asking some of the questions I would like to have heard discussed. I think he spent too much time on the question of Pat's running on the Reform Party ticket and not enough on substantive issues, particularly free trade vs. "protectionism." I have just finished reading the Great Betrayal, and I would like to have heard Pat talk on some of these issues; I'm sure we will another time and place!

Several things impress me about Pat -- his honesty, his intelligence, his mastery of the facts, his passion and particularly his Americanism. I am a veteran and I come from a long line of veterans, stretching back to the French and Indian Wars, and I am tired of seeing our country sold down the river to China, Japan or wherever. I will not vote for another Republican until the Republicans quit selling me out ... It was a decent interview and Rush was fair but, as I said, I was really not that interested in hearing about the Reform Party. But that is Rush's "bête noir" -- the fear that someone might rock the boat of the Republican party or dare to oppose the anointed Republican candidate.

I just stuck my "Buchanan for President" bumper sticker on my Ford Taurus. I voted for Pat in the 1996 primaries and I wrote him in the general election and I don't care what ticket he runs on (or none at all) I will vote for him as long as he wants to run. Honesty is too rare and precious a commodity in American politics not to treasure it when one finds it.
       -- Pat Cleaver - Long-Time Buchanan Brigadier

Dear Rush,
I have felt you have been somewhat unfair and negatively biased in your treatment of Pat Buchanan over the past few weeks...   but your interview with Pat today was very fair. After hearing Pat unfiltered, I now know that I can support him whatever party he might choose. I am tired of supporting a party and will support a man who I think can make a difference. I still love your show.
       -- Randy Reid

Dear Linda,
I heard Pat on Rush's radio show. Pat is a man of integrity, honor and courage. I trust and admire Pat Buchanan. I cannot say that about the Republican Party... Rush, this is gut check time. Are you a man of principle? Are you not any better than the Republicans who now control the U.S. Congress -- you can't continue to blame everything on those 25-35 moderate Republicans. What about Trent Lott? Where is his leadership? Where is the good fight?
-- Jim Giles - Jackson, Mississippi

Dear Rush,
I am and have been a Republican all my life! I thank you for having Pat Buchanan on your show and I hope you will do that again ...and again! I am now more convinced than ever that Pat is our man...wherever he is nominated. Yes indeed, the Republican party has left us and, if you were really honest, you would admit that you would vote for him too!   He is a knowledgeable gentleman, he loves our country and is unequivocally a man of principle. We need Pat and I believe quite strongly that he is going to make a super strong showing if he is given the opportunity to address the issues in front of the American people and debate the other candidates for the presidency
-- Joe Binard MD FRCS(c) - Former National Director SCI Programs Dept. of Veterans Affairs

Dear Linda,
Heard it, loved it! Pat did an awesome job! Can't wait until the debates with W. Bush and Gore/Bradley. Gonna Smoke 'em! GO PAT GO!
-- Ray Pendyck - Raleigh, NC

Dear Linda,
Yes! I heard PJB on Rush! I love the way he seldom goes on the defensive. When people try to back him into a corner (not necessarily on Rush but on some of the other shows I watched and recorded this weekend and yesterday morning) he keeps his cool and avoids answering with a lot of negatives - always saying what he believes and what he will do if elected - always telling it "like it is"! Finally a candidate that WILL NOT BACK DOWN!!! GO!PAT!GO! GO!PAT!GO! GO!PAT!GO
-- Carol Sue Saunders - Yakima, WA

Dear Linda,
Pat is almost irresistible. I wrote this to Rush during the show. I think Rush was rocked. Pat answered every complaint with overwhelming satisfaction. Any real conservative listening had to compelled to follow Pat. GoPatGo
       -- Dwayne Tarver

Dear Linda,
Pat is electrifying! You cannot stump this man with any question or twisting of his words. Even Rush, who is infamous for using his callers and guests own words to prove the point he is trying to make, could not put Mr. Buchanan on his heels! I got the feeling that Rush wishes that he could "jump ship" with Pat to the Reform Party, but is afraid that would lead to his own demise. He has been so pro-Republican without enforcing the pro-REPUBLIC and pro-CONSERVATIVE views that the BRIGADIERS want to hear shouted from the mountaintop...   I'm tired of the lassie-faire attitude that the "Republicans" in congress are showing! They need to wake up and get some guts! The wave of the New Republic (not World Order) is forming. GO PAT GO!!!!
       -- Matthew J. Yavorcik - Charlotte, NC

Dear Rush,
I enjoyed the dialog between you and Mr. Buchanan. Why are the Republicans freezing this guy out? He looks and sounds like an asset to me, one that could bring labor democrats to the right. You asked him about the expansion of government to protect American business. Isn't it a question of the function of government? I can see the government protecting a countries economic base vs. sponsoring art or a public TV station. Help me on this. The Republicans have a number of good candidates to choose from including Buchanan. Why can't the Republicans keep him and his message? I would really like a Bush/Buchanan ticket. Are they or can they be compatible?
       -- Andy Wood

Dear Pat,
Heard the interview, thought it was just great! What one has to tell Rush is that we are tired of waiting. This is not a football team where we can always say wait until next season, wait until next season! Time is of the essence and we may be very shortly beyond the point of no return if we don't start doing something right now!
       -- Granitgriz - Florida Brigade

Dear Linda,
Pat was awesome! There is no doubt that Pat was on solid footing today. The exciting thought is that MILLIONS of people who have heard Rush bashing Pat of late - heard PJB have his say today. Many probably heard the REAL Buchanan message for the first time. Go, Pat, Go! This time - ALL THE WAY to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue!
       -- Mike Swickey

Dear Linda,
I logged on to Rush's web site after I received your notice. The whole Population Research Institute listened to the interview and we were so impressed. WE LOVE PAT!!    I can only speak for myself, but I support him 100%... in or out of the Republican Party! Keep up the good work and keep us posted! Best Regards,
-- Michele Madasz - Front Royal, VA

Dear Linda,
I think Pat held his own, on Rush Limbaugh's EIB network... When many of us have worked for many, many years in the Republican Party, only to be squelched by the Republican Establishment, we finally acknowledged the cold, hard truth, with Pat, that a change is not only demanded -- it is imminent. Ross Perot has given us a vehicle where we will be able to finally break through the shackles of both Establishment Party machines...  The more Rush Limbaugh tries to paint Buchanan, as off the mark, the more I am sure that Pat is on the mark. Our nation sleepily listens to the drivel of political and international debates -- until Pat comes in and "tells it like it is" ...

Move over, Rush. A new "Doctor of Democracy" is stepping up to drive the Conservative Train, and you are being left at the station! I am sending another check to Pat right now! Go Pat Go!
-- Bob Bevill - Merrimack, NH

Dear Rush,
I have been pretty much of a Rush loyalist over the years, and hope that I can remain so. Although I have some reservations about some of the positions that Pat Buchanan articulates, perhaps more in degree than in substance, I take exception to the way that you are handling the Buchanan situation on several counts... I resent your constantly referring to Buchanan as an "isolationist" unless you are going to refer to those who disagree with him as "internationalists". Buchanan's position is far from that of not having anything to do with the world community or isolating ourselves from international contacts. You, of all people, should know that...   I am not sure what I think about Buchanan leaving the GOP, nor am I absolutely sure for whom I will vote next year if it turns out to be Buchanan-Bush-Gore. The Supreme Court appointments are important, but I'll not abandon Buchanan for another David Souter on the Court.
       -- G. Daniel Harden - Topeka, Kansas

Dear Linda,
I got out to my car (I'm at work now) and heard most of it. Pat did quite well. I hope he can win Rush over, at least part of the way. I hope Rush has him on many times again as I used to be a big Rush fan and it would be nice for them to reconcile their differences. But even if he can't, I'm still with Pat.
       -- R. Paul Korb

Dear Linda,
WOW! That was the best Pat Buchanan I have ever heard! I was undecided. Now, I am not. Pat answered all my questions and eased my doubts. I will definitely vote for Pat. Thanks for alerting us to this Rush programming. I was not planning to listen to it today and would have been very sad to have missed it.
       -- Lee

Dear Pat,
Dittos, Mr. Rush, allow me to say that I am an avid Rush Limbaugh enthusiast. You have been the prominent conservative voice for several years and have assisted in the development of my young conservative mind. You've provided a necessary alternative to the liberal-dominated media and have generated spirited discussions within the automobiles, workplaces, and homes of millions of American listeners. Having said that, Rush, I must now address your stance regarding Pat's departure from the GOP...

It saddens me that genuine conservatives such as you cling to this concept of supporting the GOP candidate that is most likely to prevail, rather than the candidate that you feel in your heart of hearts is the most likely to actually pursue the conservative agenda. Furthermore, I've heard you declare Pat Buchanan an "adversary". However, Rush, must you focus on the issue day in and day out, painting Pat and his supporters in such a negative light? Again, understandably, you are constrained by your Republican identity and commitment...but, Rush, have you no conscience?

Assuming that Pat does indeed bolt to the Reform Party...Pat should be deemed a "savior". A savior not only to American conservatives, but to our sacred Constitution that has been so mercilessly assaulted and treaded upon as of late. Rush, this fragmenting of our party is separating the men from the boys, the actives from the inactives. So be it. We are witnessing history.
       -- Michael Lierzer - 24-year-old Poli-Sci student - Houston, TX

Dear Rush,
In '92, do you remember encouraging your listening audience to vote for Pat? He hasn't changed. Have you?
-- Nick Federspiel - West Chester, OH

Dear Linda,
Rush Limbaugh debating Pat Buchanan -- Rush never had a chance! Now, if Rush would just playback Pat's answers over and over... Maybe he would get back to his roots...  What I realized is he is trying the same arguments he gives to his audience... plausible in nature, but failing the true test of reality. For the sake of the party he is currently registered to win, he will forgive the fact that they have left their political soul behind.

Pat, teach us - bring up the real conservative revolution. Newt gave us the moderate revulsion, this was a fake. It gave moderates power, and was a bigger lie than even "read my lips". Be the leader Newt never was... and give us Leadership we need into the next millennium. Go Pat Go!!
-- Mark Watson - Worthington, OH

Dear Rush,
I have tried to stick with you, Rush. I have listened to your program consistently from your first days on the air in New Orleans, but my patience is wearing thin. You seem so eager to demagogue and castigate those who are standing up for America... You are wrong on this issue, Rush, and I believe if Buchanan is able to debate in an open forum, he will be elected. Also, how can you support a candidate such as Bush who supports Clintonian policies. A litmus test for me is if Clinton supports it, it cannot be for the betterment of America. Clinton supports "free trade," therefore, it cannot help America. Sincerely,
-- Patrick Wood - Metairie, LA

Dear Linda,
Pat is kicking butt! I'm sitting here cheering for him as he talks America First -- he needs to be in front of every American telling the truth about GWB. GO PAT, givem hell !!!!!
       -- Don Mendonsa

Dear Mr. Limbaugh,
It is very sad to see that you and Sean Hannity have become nothing more than "mouthpieces" for the RNC. Why do you allow yourselves to be such lackeys? It doesn't seem to fit your independent style.   Is it possible you don't realize that a political party is nothing more than a vehicle -- a conveyance in which to deposit ideas and principles and have them travel from point A (platform) to point B (enactment).

When the vehicle changes direction and no longer takes you where you're headed, the obvious thing to do is to get off and board a vehicle that will get you where you want to go. And so it is with the Republican Party.   The other day you read a fax from a Republican lady who threatened to no longer listen to your program because of all the Pat Buchanan supporters who were being allowed to speak.   People like her act as if the GOP were some kind of master to which one pledges one's fealty. Not so...

The lady said we Buchanan supporters were not Republicans. She called us "Buchananites," but actually, we call ourselves AMERICANS.   Sadly, some Republicans have lost sight of the fact that we should all be Americans before we are Republicans, Democrats, conservatives, liberals, or anything else. America First, get it?

I'm ready to switch trolleys. Whither Pat goest, there go I. And if the Reform Party be the vehicle to move us closer to our destination, so be it. Courage, Rush. Hop on board. There's room. The political hacks may snub you, but you'll be on the side of the angels.    Seems time once again for that slogan: A choice, not an echo. Sincerely,
-- Barbara Meskill - Hilton Head Island - SC

Dear Rush,
I understand that Pat Buchanan will be on your show today. Mr. Buchanan has my strong support to be our next President and I will vote for him even if he goes over to the Reform Party. (and I am a lifelong Republican!)   It's not so much about the Political parties anymore, it's about who and what is right for our Country.   Mr. Buchanan is the only Presidential Candidate who would restore the Respect, Strength, and Constitutional Sovereignty to the United States of America that is needed to lead the world as we begin a new century.
       -- Jonathan P. Brown - Naperville, Illinois

Dear Rush,
Why is that you continue to bash Pat Buchanan when you let George W Bush off the hook? You are another one of the Republican establishment that does not appreciate a person of conviction. While George W continues to waffle, Pat provides the straight scoop. When Pat won then New Hampshire primary in 1996, not only did he scare the Republican establishment but he put the fear of God in Bob Dole. It was only after that, that they started to label Pat as an extremist. An Extremist: Someone who puts America first? Heavens, this makes Pat Buchanan an evil man?
-- David Shumway - Riverdale, Maryland

Dear Rush,
So sad, Rush, that you seem to have joined the attack on Pat Buchanan. Tell us why you don't like him, please don't read all the lies from the idiot commentaries...    The other day you said that we sounded like people who were not nice, not the kind you would like to have a conversation with. Today you were not nice, I didn't like the persona you were portraying. You seem to want to continue the attack on Pat, begun in 1995. If you don't like his ideas, tell us what "dubya's" are. Tell us about his positions. It doesn't help your cause to keep attacking Buchanan. It is beginning to sound desperate. The Republican's are in trouble. Many of us can't support them because they've caved to almost every Clinton whim, as well as covered up every scandal...

I have watched this slow demise for over thirty years. I walked precincts for Ronnie Reagan when he ran for Governor of the State of California then again when he ran for President. I was a Democrat and changed parties. In him I saw hope for the nation and my child and my grandchildren...If you keep up this diatribe of opposition to Pat, I'll have to tune you out. With great hope for a better tomorrow. God Bless
       -- Kay Stewart

Dear Rush Limbaugh,
As a former Republican for some twenty years and active in local politics, interested in national and state political affairs, I've learned first hand that the GOP leadership has no interest in principle -- it is a party without a soul. Daily, you bash Patrick J. Buchanan and his Brigade -- it is shameful to hear you berate patriotic, Constitutional, caring, pro-life Americans who long for a better country.

If you care, I am a retired American History teacher, majoring in government and concerned about the nationalization of the country's education through Goals 2OOO - OBE - STW. These are all failed, federally funded fads! You rarely talk about real issues that can be presented for action for your listeners, but seem obsessed with political foibles. While entertaining, your buffoonery does nothing more than distract us from the work at hand - getting America back on the right track. A kook that puts principle first,
-- Gene Malone - Kenosha, Wisconsin

Dear Rush,
I support the individual over the party... I personally favor Buchanan over Bush on a host of issues ranging from Abortion to National Defense.  I will not support a candidate based upon political party alone, such a move would be an affront to any person of conscience. The idea that our Representatives must come from a certain political party is no better than the Roman Senators coming from certain families, or the English House of Lords being open only to nobility and clergy... I will vote on the side of the moral right. America FIRST!
-- Todd Grantham - Milton, Florida

Dear Rush,
Regarding Bill Bennett's strikes against Patrick Buchanan: They reek of a personal grudge. Both Pat and Bill are Gonzaga High grads, with only a few years separating the two. Understandably, Mr. Bennett suffers from the envy syndrome -- with Buchanan being the better thinker, the better articulator. Moreover, Pat's role in the political spotlight is far from finished; the sun has set on Mr. Bennett...

If Buchanan leaves the GOP, the largest segment to follow him will be younger conservatives. And that will have long lasting, stinging effects on the party -- for good reason... Rush, there IS a real split in our party. I would love to see it healed. But I cannot and will not stay loyal to the GOP if it continues to walk away from the issues that Buchananites and I care about, mainly trade reform and re- establishing an America-First foreign policy. While I proudly declare that I've been a Republican since turning 18 -- some eight years ago -- I have also voted for and supported Pat Buchanan in every election, primary and general, since November of '92.     And bottom line: My investment in Pat's cause is far more valuable than my membership to a political faction that is becoming less substantive with every passing day.
-- Jamie Karl - U.S. Army - Fort Benning, GA

Dear Rush,
First, let me say we not kooks, the lunatic fringe, or the crazies, we are the heart and soul of America. We are the ones who rise everyday and find a reason to remain Patriots. We are the people who drive the trucks, build and repair the machines, create and perform the jobs, raise the families, and pay the taxes ... In short, we are Americans, and we are America! ...You have said many times that words mean things, and I agree. I believe, as do all of Pat's supporters, that our Constitution means something, too. We believe that loyalty, Patriotism, honor, sanctity of life, are not just words, but creeds upon which a man lays the foundation of trust. They are not merely pawns to be anted every four years as a meaningless plank in a political party platform...

Our forefathers and grandfathers did not toil, sweat, bleed and die for us to become tools and slaves under anyone's regime. They fought the battles in the hopes that we may never have to. They instilled in us a sense of Patriotism, courage and valor, that should we ever need to call upon our instincts as Americans, we could rise to the challenge, answer the call, and ride to the sound of the guns in defense of this land we love so much. It is that voice that we hear, that call that we answer, and that duty that we are obligated as Americans to heed, which leads us to support Patrick J. Buchanan. And as was said of Brig. General George Armstrong Custer's 7th Cavalry Unit of their leader, "we will follow him in battle into Hell." Can you say the same for any member of the Globalist Over Patriotism party? For the Cause, For America First,
-- Timothy P. Rose, Sr. - Chickamauga, GA

Dear Linda,
I am so bummed at what Rush said... It seems he is trying to influence the election. It was like stabbing me in the back and twisting it. I need a BIG Buchanan yard sign.
       -- Greg Buggy

Dear Rush,
Great last hour today! Thanks for having Pat on. Pat was articulate, gracious, inspiring, motivating...not to mention RIGHT. We were so proud of him. His arguments were cogent and reasonable. I would think he would have the Democrats as nervous as the Republicans about now. Sincerely,
       -- Sharman Ramsey

Dear Rush,
I didn't hear your show, but I support Pat Buchanan no matter what party he will be running on. I have been a long time Republican, but left the party because of it's lack of character and backbone when dealing with Clinton and the likes of him. Please don't become one of the Clinton sound-a-likes.
-- John Roane - Sarasota, Florida

Dear Linda,
I listened to Pat Buchanan on Rush's show and it was great! Pat really rocked! He had clear answers and explanations for all of Rush's questions. I especially liked Pat's reply to Rush about the "new world order" and "global conspiracy theories". Pat explained himself and gave clear examples of how we're losing our national and economic sovereignty. Rush seemed to have it in his head that you have to be a Bircher or conspiracy nut to believe that globalism exists; I think Pat showed him that that's not the case... I hope that Rush will have Pat back on the show. Hopefully Pat gave Rush something to think about and he will start to be more open to some of the good ideas that Pat and his followers (such as myself) believe.
-- Chris Hudson - San Antonio, TX

Dear Linda,
Great discussion on Rush's show. If anyone does not now understand why the Republicans and the Democrats do not want Pat as a debate partner you must of been listening to another station. When a well prepared man can offer the truth with conviction, and a clearly defined path is set out for all to see it becomes clear who's serious about change and who is status quo...
       -- Ken

Dear Linda,
Finally an hour of Rush I could listen to. Pat at his very best and Rush totally lost for words. Go Pat Go! Sincerely,
       -- Ellen Gilmore

Dear Linda,
I don't listen much to Rush anymore, but did listen today & heard Pat. WOW! Even the great Rush Limbaugh sounded like just another hollow sounding Establishment-line touting parrot as he tried to trip up our next president, Patrick J. Buchanan! GOPATGO!!!!
       -- Brian Levers

Dear Rush,
Thank you for having Pat Buchanan on your show today. It was a great show and brought out the best in both of you. I am a Buchanan supporter and think you could be too if you seriously consider the issues that seem to separate you.     Pat has agonized over this decision to leave the Republican Party. If he does so, he would be drastically changing the course of his life. That takes courage and principle and certainly is not the politically correct thing to do. I believe that if he does so, it will be because he puts his country above his personal ambitions and life.

How about it Rush, do you have the patriotic convictions to put your career on the line and join Pat? From what I gather, you could support Pat except that it would mean divorcing yourself from the Party and also maybe making it possible for Gore to win. If we continue to vote for the centrist Republican only to keep a liberal Democrat from winning, the conservatives will never win. If people like you begin to support the truly conservative candidate, Pat can win!
       -- Brad Knowles

Dear Linda,
Hey Linda, I heard the show as I do everyday and it's about time Pat got on there and tried to straighten out Rush. There were several times when he had Rush speechless! Please have Pat get on there again. And maybe debate other Republicans on the Rush show, since there doesn't seem to be any other forum. The Orlando forum has canceled! Bush country...it's a shame!    Thank you for they updates you do -- I read them all! I like all the publicity Pat is getting...but I do hope he stays in the Republican party. If he does, he will win the nomination and the general election!
       -- Gary B. Miami, FL

Dear Rush,
I totally agree with Pat Buchanan's views. He is one of a handful of true patriots and he has my respect and admiration. I have to wonder why the Republican's are attacking him, could it be that they feel they just don't measure up? Hats off to Pat and two thumbs up for having him on your show. Sincerely,
       -- W & W Weatherford - Littleton, CO

Dear Linda,
Pat cordially, but firmly, outlined what he believes and he got Rush thinking. And Rush invited him back!
       -- R. Fitton

Dear Linda,
You're right - Great interview! I have been listening to Rush before I could even vote and this was his best ever. I have not been a Buchanan backer for very long, but my excitement increases as I hear more of his explanation and heart on the issues...More than ever, I am excited for this election and I really can get passionate about moving the word about a third party winning the White House for the first time since the civil war!

Dear Mr. Limbaugh,
I would remind you that for several years you have talked about character. Character is the most important thing in a president. You have driven that home time after time.     While it is true that Mr. Clinton has no character, Mr. Bush only comes up to Mr. Buchanan's knees on a scale comparing character. Compare how often Mr. Bush has equivocated on important items compared to Mr. Buchanan. It will be interesting to see you explain away your recommendations considering a candidate's character.   As a fan I greatly regret that you are putting party ahead of possibly the best man. Sincerely,
       -- William B. Kaliher

Dear Linda and Buchanan HQ,
Pat Buchanan stood up on the Rush Limbaugh show today for the hard working men and women of America ... He did a excellent job at both defending his record and his views -- both of which are worth defending for their soundness and integrity.   Mr. Buchanan showed a zest not for "party" but for country. The same kind of zest displayed not so long ago by one of America's best presidents Ronald Reagan. He clearly understands the destiny of this country through its historic principles. He stands besides Washington, Lincoln, and Teddy Roosevelt in his defense of the American economic ideals of tariff and protection that built this nation in the first place. Rush used the same old lines against the policies our founding fathers embraced and Pat swung back with the full force of history; as if guided by that great hand of destiny that guided our brethren in 1776!

Go, Pat, Go! Wonderful job Mr. Buchanan! Let us "gear up, and ride to the sounds of the guns!" I have faith in you Pat! Give us all you got, and we'll get you elected, I can feel it!

Dear Linda,
At 2 pm today, the Rush Limbaugh show was taken over by the radio version of Crossfire, where the host, Patrick J. Buchanan, grilled and embarrassed the man behind the EIB mike. PJB had Rush scrambling. Rush, to his credit, gave it his best shots, but Patrick scooped up Rush's questions like 2-hop little-league groundballs, and tossed Rush out every time.   The Reform Party can become both a party, and a reformation of politics, should Patrick "bolt." My check will be written the same day that Pat leaves the GOP. Can't wait for the televised debates!!!
       -- J. Baxter - Big Rapids, MI

Dear Pat,
I heard you on Rush today, it was great. I think you were getting close to winning Rush over. Give them hell Pat!
-- John Rios - Media, PA

Dear Linda,
Patrick was awesome! An entire hour, can you believe it? Twenty million conservatives listen to this show, yours truly included. Rush asked all the typical questions and Pat handled them artfully. The man has passion, brilliance and is articulate. What the "powers-to-be" fear the most is that he will become a candidate included in all the debates covered by the teletronic media and he will totally destroy their anointed ones. Linda dear, God bless you as you are a tireless warrior.

Dear rush,
I have been a great fan of yours Rush and appreciate hearing Pat B. on the show. I am a Reagan Republican, 82nd Airborne veteran, and Rush fan who has had it with the Republican establishment. On your show you repeatedly state that this will split the votes and hurt Republicans. My question to you is: Can you read the future? No one ever dreamed that Bush would lose to Clinton at the start of the campaign, but it happened. What I hear from Republicans is fear.

So why don't you and my fellow Republicans give this a chance? In '96 the Republican candidate had his chance, this is 2000 and I hope Pat breaks away so his voice can be heard... You know as well as I do that once he faces off with George W. or even the Democrat's "greatest hope," they won't hold a candle to Pat. Thanks for your time,
       -- Todd

Dear Linda,
Heard Pat, and he set Rush back on his "butt" with some of the answers to questions on, Trade, Foreign Policy, reducing government size/regulations, IMF giveaways, World bank taking U.S.Taxpayers' funds for foreign subsidies to COMPETE with our own tax paying workers, and the NAFTA Trucks violating our STATE standards for safety - violating our STATE and U.S. laws.... Just some thoughts, and stay on the offensive with the issues discussed with Rush.
-- Ernie Dynda - United Organization of Taxpayers - California

Dear Linda,
I heard heard the interview. I must admit, I was impressed. However, I still think Pat's got no business leaving the GOP. I'm sorry, there's no other way to put it. Yours truly,
       -- James A. Kern

Dear Pat,
I heard Pat on Rush - Fantastic! Because now, every "Duh" Republican can judge for themselves what PJB is for. Cheers,
       -- Mike Schofell

Dear Rush,
Congratulations on conducting an exciting interview with Pat Buchanan today. It's a genuine pleasure to hear a politician speak his mind without tapdancing, equivocating, or answering some other question than the one the interviewer asks. I'd love to hear it again.

Incidentally, just in case you haven't seen Buchanan's letter to the San Francisco Examiner in reply to Chris Matthew's review of his book, I've appended it below. I think it provides a fairly straightforward answer to the "Nazi sympathizer" charge that some are leveling at him. (Geraldo, for example, tried to label Buchanan with that distortion tonight, but he just couldn't make it stick. I'm afraid Geraldo was a little out of his league.)    Thanks for a challenging and stimulating program. Keep up the good work.

Dear Pat,
I thought you were awesome on the show.... First I do support your beliefs 100 percent. You are a breath of fresh air in maze of deceit. Generally I also agree with everything Rush says, except on you leaving and seeking a third party nomination. You have to do what you feel is right for you... I will support you either way. The Republican party has lost it's soul...

Note: Many more comments have come in on this topic, but this is all I have time to add -- Keep up the great work Brigade!
