Dear Pat,
You've never been afraid to take the hard road. The only man running whom I would favorably compare to my father -- a man who set a high standard of conduct for himself, but was always solicitous of others. Party affiliation is irrelevant to me -- I'm with you all the way.
-- Nick Federspiel - West Chester, OH

Dear Brigade,
Hello Everyone!!!, Just had to let you all know about this. Adding more fuel to the fire. I just had a long phone conversation with Henry Glasik, who is a trucker/teamster from the Holland Michigan area, and he told me some very exciting news. He talks to hundreds of truckers everyday and the support is running 3 to 1 for Buchanan. Henry said he is a registered Democrat but he is fed up with the party. He will be coming to our local meetings and is willing to speak at our rallies. What a guy!!! Thanks Henry. God Bless All, and GO PAT GO!!!
-- Charlene Truszkowski, Grand Rapids, MI

Dear Brigade,
I just found an interesting quote by Alan Dershowitz

"What would I do if Hitler asked me to defend him?" Dershowitz asked a packed Yale Law School crowd. "Yes, I would defend him. And I would win."
- Alan Dershowitz - The Boston Herald 2/3/99

Maybe it is time to set up a special section on our site -- "Quote of the Day" or ??
-- Linda Muller - McLean, VA

Dear Linda,
I would like to say this Brigade Internet List is a big hit. I am a member and will help Pat whenever, just e-mail me or call me and I will help out. I will support Pat in his Reform Party run because so many "Republicans" are already giving the GOP nomination to Double U. God Bless
       -- James J Martinez - Broomfield, CO

Dear Pat,
I just read Robert Novak's fantastic column in the NY Post. Thanks for having it posted on the Brigade Updates as well. Novak hinted that Pat Buchanan might be considering James Hoffa, Jr. as a running mate. This wouldn't be just another conservative or third party candidacy, this would a historic breakthrough for all the disenfranchised voting blocks of the last few decades. Please, please create a Buchanan-Hoffa ticket! All the best. Good luck and Run, Pat, Run!
-- Maureen Flannery - New York City, NY

Dear Pat,
I have voted for you in all your campaigns. I deeply believe in your attempts to preserve this Republic. If that means going to another party, I will still vote for you. God Bless you and your run.
-- Ricky Lormand - Jennings, LA

Dear Linda,
Pat must seek the Reform Party nomination. He must not allow wishy-washy 'conservatives' to use the argument that if Pat does get the Reform nomination it will hurt 'W' and guarantee a Gore or more likely, Bradley, election.  As I wrote before, this is not a football game! Sure, I am concerned about the Supreme Court vacancies likely to occur in 2001-2004.  But Republicans gave us William Brennan and Earl Warren and Blackmun and Souter (shudder!) and Kennedy and O'Connor and others. WOW!!! Some litany there. So as we can see, a 'W' is likely to do just as poorly. And in fact his "no litmus test on abortion" is likely to guarantee more debacles rather than more Rehnquist's, Scalia's or Thomas's.
       -- Don Maloney

Dear Linda,
Hey , how are you? Could you do me a favor and post the note below to the next message board? I think Pat & Shelley will enjoy it. They know me dating back to the '92 campaign in NH. Thanks!

[Ed. Note: OK but not the whole thing its too long!]

Hey Pat & Shelley:
"Borb" from Southie here. Instead of my usual personal handwritten scribblings I thought I'd send along this missive via e-mail. First, Joe McQuaid (although a great and bright man) is wrong, and all those urging you to bolt are right. There's not a doubt in my mind about this. (I'm sure that's comforting!)... Fourth, You know you're causing a stir when that loser Dershowitz is on TV bashing you - again... Sixth, Pat, in all seriousness, this is exciting and refreshing. New life has been born. You are doing terrific with the media appearances. That fellow from AZ (message board) had a good idea: Tell the media that Bush and Gore will divide the Establishment vote, enabling Populist Pat to win. And you can win - just get the Reform nomination!! Seventh, Linda will get mad if I make this any longer ... I've been doing lots of running this summer, usually in my "Buchanan 2000" T-Shirt. I've taken off weight and helped the Cause at the same time - a win-win situation! Godspeed Pat & Shelley!
-- Bob LaMarca - South Boston, MA

Dear Pat,
        Best Wishes in 2000!
       -- Richard Deigan - U.S. Navy - Bethesda, MD

Dear Pat,
In my lifetime, there have been only three truly great leaders of outstanding character and conviction, dedicated to the values and core beliefs that made this nation great. Those three are; Barry Goldwater, Ronald Reagan, and Pat Buchanan...I pray for Pat to make the right choice on whether to bolt to the Reform Party , or to work within the Republican Party. I too feel betrayed by the lackluster leadership. Perhaps it would be best to give it one more gallant effort and try to win the Republican nomination -- I pray for Pat in making this decision. You have my support. Go, Pat Go!
-- David Harkness - Mesquite, TX

Dear Linda,
I sincerely believe that Pat Buchanan should not run on a third party ticket. All he will accomplish is to aid democrats. Third party won in Minnesota because there was such poor competition.
       -- John Peterson

Dear Linda,
It is unfortunate that the current American political party system, once a coalition of different ideas, has become a smear of similar back stabbing tactics designed to reduce the liberty of the individual, while increasing the extensive powers of government. As President Ronald Reagan eluded, most of today's problems originate in Washington... We are seeing the assault of the Third Way, and the New World Order taking over our politics, and Pat Buchanan is the only choice and hope in this attack.
-- Jim Murphy - Gore, VA

Dear Linda,
Just wanted to drop you a note expressing my sincerest thanks for all the work you are doing on behalf of this great cause. If we can rally enough people like yourself we can make a real difference in this country. I'm with Pat all the way and am willing to lend my support in ANY capacity. Thanks!
-- John Stevens - Alexandria, VA

Dear Linda,
Pat must be gaining on them, judging by the attacks on him and their growing frequency ... But there is some good to come from all of this. I'm finding out daily the people I can no longer trust...
-- David Jaques - Roseburg, OR

Dear Linda and Fellow Brigaders,
Pat and James Hoffa, Jr. would be an outstanding match! If this does happen, Bush and Gore can go ahead and brush up on their valet parking skills, or start passing out refreshments or something! It's about all they'll be needed for. Go Pat Go!!! Keep up the Great work!
       -- K. Campbell - Southern California

Dear Linda,
Remind fellow Brigaders that Abraham Lincoln was a Whig, before joining a coalition of little parties that called themselves Republicans, for the 1860 election. Then, in 1864, the Republicans fought amongst themselves so nastily, that President Lincoln dropped out of the Republican Party and formed the Union Party -- only for the 1864 Presidential Election. After winning the election, Lincoln switched back to the Republican Party. Little trivia facts.
-- Bob Bevill - Merrimack, NH

To All of Those Who Remain Loyal Republicans,
I find it disheartening to see Buchanan supporters who say that they will no longer support him if he abandons the Republican Party. I fail to understand how a party label can be more important than ideals and principles ...Don't such individuals see that a Third Party candidacy is the only way for the only candidate with genuine ideas to make himself heard in the race? Let's put an end to the era of nonentity politicians and usher in an era of courageous statesmen who stand for their beliefs, not the letter R vs. D designating party membership. Perhaps an independent Buchanan run will put an end to the pathetic, indistinguishable two parties between which we're forced to choose every four years.
-- Max Shpak, New Haven, CT

Dear Pat,
Never worry what people will think. Do what you think is right.
-- Anthony Ciaccio - Commack, NY

Dear Pat,
The establishment Republicans will never accept you, making it essential that you run as a third party or independent candidate. I believe that there are millions of Americans like me out here who will rally behind you. Please ignore the establishment Republicans who say that you will only "give" the election to the Democrats. I believe you can win the presidency outright. All we have to do is make sure that Americans have the opportunity to hear your message. I believe you are the only honest man in the race. You do not require "focus groups", "consultants", or polls to decide what you believe and that is very refreshing.
-- Charles Whigham - Medical Director - Suwanee, GA

Dear Pat,
We desperatley need a president like you Pat - Go Pat Go! Warmest Regards,
-- Christopher DelSanto - Modesto, CA

Dear Brigade,
        GORE / BUSH:  New World Order=YES; Pro-UN=YES; NAFTA=YES; WTO=YES; IMF= YES; Abortion=YES; Immigration=YES; Affirmative Action=YES; Pro-MFN-China=YES; Gun Control=YES; Goals 2000=YES; Sellout Taiwan= YES; Dept. of Education=YES;....

Some choice. Yeah, these guys are *real* different. I'm gonna run right out and get me a Bush button! (when donkey's fly....) ... REFORM, PAT, REFORM! ...
"It is my hope that the Gulf War will be the Crucible of The New World Order" - George Herbert Walker Bush, 1991 ... and we're supposed to vote for his son?
REFORM, PAT, REFORM!
