Dear Linda,
This weekend saw a lot of Pat's critics stop dead in their tracks, when I brought up the Team of Buchanan and Traficant. Everyone of them said that this team would have a great chance of winning the White House. Even those Bush Babies! Could you please ask him to consider this team. As both men, are men who have Great Love for our country. God Bless you Both!
      -- James L. Cochrae - Williamsport, PA

Dear Pat,
Please do not give up. Love your book!
-- Wendell Harris - Programmer - Cleveland, TN

Dear Linda,
Sent this to the The Washington Post:
Dear Editor: George Orwell said, "Freedom is the right to tell people what they don't want to hear." Not content with misrepresenting Mr. Buchanan's 419 page essay analyzing America's foreign policy, the Post in its September 28, 1999 editorial rejects honest debate and engages in a personal attack. With manicured prose the Post masks its contempt for democracy and resorts to the politics of hate. Complex issues are reduced to digestible tidbits designed to undermine meaningful discourse. The hysterical accusation of demagoguery is a reminder that it is not the exercise of free speech, but its calculated suppression, which is troubling. Let us hope that the political debate will not be framed by the few who are disdainful of those who view freedom and democracy as more than mere slogans. Sincerely,
      -- Gerald P. Lorentz - Washington, D.C

Dear Pat,
Go Pat Go! You are the only one who dares speak the truth. God Bless You & Good Luck
-- Kenneth Wagner - Sales - Stoughton, MA

Dear Brigade,
If you are ready to do BATTLE, do you know what the fight is? Our fight is to make history next year by being America's first no-party party. A party OF THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE, AND FOR THE PEOPLE. We will be the first party to allow THE PEOPLE, not THE PARTY, to elect our candidate. Our only mission is to win this BATTLE, not hype or knock candidates. We are wide-open to any reform point-of-view and ANY reform candidate ... SADDLE-UP AND RIDE TO THE SOUND OF THE CANNONS!! GO-PAT-GO Reform Party!!
      -- Ed McClelland --NY-Fighting-19th-CD

Dear Pat,
        President Buchanan, That sounds nice!
-- Brian Stewart - Dyersburg, TN

Dear Linda,
Please ask Mr. Buchanan to push for answers from Mr. Greenspan on the question of wage inflation. Mr. G has been saying for several years that wages are going to rise due to the low unemployment rate. It has not happened and he consistently says he does not know why. Why doesn't he know? Why can't or won't they come up with an answer to this question. After all his whole policy is based on this "fact".

My opinion is that there is no labor shortage. People are forced to work more and more hours as "salaried" personnel. The service nature of the workplace has facilitated this shift. Experiment: post an IT resume on the web (net-temps.com) and see how few inquiries come back. I smell a very large rat!    Note: I wrote Rep. Wolf, VA and asked for documentation on the shortage and four weeks later no response. When I called his office I was told, "why, the shortage is in all of the newspapers!" I'm impressed! Sincerely,
-- Tim McKim - Sterling, VA

Dear Brigade,
A 3 way race between Trump, Gore, and Bush? What an awesome set of choices! Should we vote for Moe, Shemp, or Larry?
      -- John German

Dear Linda,
RE: Your Brigade email on H-1b Visas - Pat's comments are, as usual, right on. Truth is there is nothing in America which is not for sale, and that includes the country, the culture and an entire way of life.

Pat, we'll fight 'em till the last ditch. Then, if we're lucky, our children's children will know we didn't sell them down the river without a fight.
-- Ron Slade - Covington, GA

Dear Brigade,
I personally think everyone should write Rush and ask him what country his ties are made in.
      -- Mark W. Hundley - Vienna, WV

Dear Linda,
With regard to your message to the Brigade list on H-1b's, this problem not only exists in the "Tech" world, but has been going one for quite some time in the transportation industry. After proving to the Federal Authority in charge of these matters, trucking companies then recruit and train foreign drivers to fill seats of otherwise so called empty trucks. This of course is only a shell game since most of those seats would be filled if the wage they paid was fair.

Unfortunately most drivers in this country are working for wages less then they did in the 1970's when the cost of living is factored in. Most drivers will switch companies in favor of other companies that pay higher wages (not necessarily fair, but higher) this causes a false shortage of drivers when the numbers used are worked out over the entire industry. They do this, as stated in the article, to get workers that are used to less and satisfied with less. The American truck driver is not in short supply he is just always looking for better ways to feed his family. Thanks for all the great updates, I look forward to my e-mail each day to see what is new.
-- Brandon Moore -Registered Independant Voting for the MAN - PJB !!!!

Dear Mr.Buchanan,
I wish that you were signing books in Georgia so that we can see you down here. I am giving you as much as I can because I know that not a penny is wasted if it is for the heart and soul of America. I loaned my extra-copy of your book to my History Professors at my college and not one of them has complained about its accuracy. Please come to Georgia soon. GO PAT GO!
-- David Melton - Student - Carrollton, GA

Dear Pat,
Due to the ambiguousness of all of the party candidates on important issues I have decided to vote according to one issue, and that is pro-life. Pat is the pro-life candidate and so he has my support. Go Pat Go!
-- David Williams - Research Scientist - Herndon, VA

Dear Linda,
That was a wonderful article by PJB on the Brigade list!   And think about this: We are told that it is good that we can buy all this cheap clothing/textiles from foreign sources. That it keeps prices low.   But where are the prices lower? I don't see it. Instead of paying $8-$10 an hour to an American worker these manufacturers now pay 50¢ an hour in Mexico or Asia. Yet the prices of the goods remain the same. There is no benefit to Americans, only to the manufacturer's bottom line. Very sad. And our 'Republican' Congress? Hahahaha! Phonies all!

And all the while we are destroying our manufacturing base, we have almost unlimited third world immigration -- and to what purpose? ...The total Welfare State is closer then we think. After all, our 'Republican' Congress has boosted total outlays $400 billion since January 1995! Who needs Democrats with 'Republicans' like that? They are spending our money at a record clip.
-- Donald Maloney - Port Chester, NY

Dear Linda,
Your craft is evident. This site gets better and better. Thanks!
-- John Maloney - San Francisco, CA

Dear Pat,
I am anxiously awaiting your decision on the option to join the Reform Party. I have been a registered Republican since my first vote, and if you leave the GOP, I will follow. Where can I find more information on the Reform Party nomination process, so that I may share my opinions with them? I am sickened by the constant misrepresentation by the media on your views, as well as the opinion of the media that the GOP nomination process is totally wrapped up by one Texas Governor. I have not even been able to cast my vote, and the race is apparently over... I would like the opportunity to vote for you in the election as either a Reform or Independent candidate. Good Luck and I am behind you all the way.
-- Martha Dohner - Martinez, GA

Dear Linda,
What I am surprised about is that no candidates are saying the first word about our Governor of Texas, who has allowed the English language to be outlawed in the State of Texas. There is a Town in Texas, called El Cenizo that has just passed a law requiring that all official business be conducted in Spanish, and making it illegal to use English for official Town business. These are some of the things that make Mr. Buchanan the candidate of choice. The politicians will not touch this with a ten-foot pole, what a shame. Where is the News Media speaking out on this issue? ... Please accept this message as a personnel viewpoint from one who is totally fed up with our present situation in Washington, and would really like to see some major changes made, I only hope that Mr. Buchanan can be successful in his run for the Presidency. Respectfully,
-- George P. Mc Ardle - Texas Brigade

Dear Pat,
I know that I am not wasting my vote or my contribution for your Presidential campaign. You have given American people hope for a better America. If we keep on our current course, we will be the next Banana Republic. Good luck and WIN!
      -- Joseph Kasper - Wilkes-Barre, PA

Dear Linda,
I am sending you a copy of the letter I sent to Senators Lott, Graham & Thompson this evening:
Senator Graham, It is obvious to all of us working folks that your one billion dollar proposal for your apparel company friends is not to help your working constituents but to move more jobs to foreign countries. Congratulations Mr. Graham, you are like most of the other Democrats & Republicans. You get your marching orders from corporate America not your individual constituents. PS. I lost my job 9 years ago to the CBI now I am losing my job to NAFTA. Thanks for a job well done! Respectfully Yours,
      -- Bobby Shay - Lawrenceburg,TN

Dear Brigade,
The U.S. participation in World War II was far reaching, and demonstrating the need to be involved ought to be elementary. We have heard nothing but a great deal of outrage and denunciations of Buchanan and his book for actually making it. Talk shows huff and puff with fulmination about Buchanan's "fascism" and "anti'Semitism." Listen carefully and think, nowhere and from no one do we hear a single word showing how Buchanan's argument is factually wrong.

Should he be wrong about Hitler and his designs, it should be easy to prove. Why not produce quotations from "Mein Kampf" that reveal Hitler's plans to conquer Europe first and then the United States? Why not quote speeches by Hitler or other Nazi leaders about their ambitions to conquer us. Why not discuss Hitler's plans for South America.   The reason this information is not forthcoming is that it simply does not exist, and the reason it does not exist is that Buchanan is correct: Hitler had no designs against the United States. Buchanan's argument is not about what Hitler might have done, but what he wanted to do in the 1930s.

What we have been listening to for the last few weeks is the screeching sound the ideological guardians of a regime make when their legitimizing myths are exposed in lies. In rejecting the rationale for American involvement in World War II, Buchanan is also rejecting the legitimizing myth of the liberalism that dragged us into the war. If that myth collapses, it won't be long before the liberalism that has fed on it for fifty years will collapse behind it.
      -- James Meehan

Dear Pat,
We have searched all the bookstores and I have searched all airport bookstores as I travel and no one has your book on the shelves. I finally ordered both of your books from Books-A-Million in Birmingham. Will have them in two weeks I am told.
-- Frank Britt - Birmingham, AL

Dear Pat,
Establishment corruption is the dragon to be slain. We must end the One Party State, and you are the man to do it. The Establishment have the mainstream media in their pockets - so go all out for the on-line vote, and bypass the crooks and toadies. May God be with you.
-- Paul Stocks - Architect - New York, NY

Dear Pat,
Hang in there Pat. Stay with the Republicans. Bush's pandering is waking up the sleeping giant out here.
-- Dr. Steven Diehl - Hollidaysburg, PA

Dear Linda,
I listened to Rush Limbaugh's commentary on the liberal garbage (platitudes) George W. Bush is putting out. Seems like the Republicans are self destructing and trying their best to alienate anyone who has traditional, conservative values. Even Rush cannot stomach it. Seems like Pat Buchanan has it right when he says there isn't a dimes worth of difference between the two parties. I hope Pat does decide to go 3rd party. The status quo needs to be shaken up. Put Pat in the White House, and who cares who gets Congress!
      -- Ernie Molesch

Dear Linda,
I decided to gauge Pat's support locally by counting the bumper stickers on cars around town. The results of this very unscientific survey are in and the winner is...Pat Buchanan! The Buchanan 2000 bumper stickers made up just over half of those I saw. My "Buchanan mobile" is ready to roll with a bumper sticker on the back and a Buchanan license plate cover on the front. Pat, I am wearing the Buchanan colors loud and proud!
-- Michael McNeil - Sioux City, Iowa

Dear Brigade,
I just bought Pat's book "A Republic, Not an Empire ", and Pat makes a great point that we need to learn from history's mistakes, not repeat them. Great world powers like the Roman Empire, Napoleon, and even Great Britain who tried to become leaders of a world empire, rather than a strong, independent nation, have fallen from grace and cease to be great superpowers. Buchanan reminds us that the founding fathers and the US Constitution calls for a free and sovereign Republic, not a world empire. Many critics have attacked Pat, even some calling him a Nazi. Did Hitler want Germany to be a sovereign nation or rule the world? Perhaps those who call for throwing away the Constitution and Bill of Rights for a New World Government and foolishly believe that the US will control it and the UN forever are the true Nazis!...

If you are a conservative, a patriotic American, or just want to preserve your freedom, I urge you to support Pat Buchanan for President! ...Go Pat Go!
-- Michael R Irving - Banking Industry - Villa Park, IL

Dear Linda,
I bought "Republic" and "Betrayal" this past Saturday in Greensboro at Borders. At first, Barnes and Noble could not even find it on their computers. They said they did not have it but thousands were on order at their warehouse. I've had "Right from the Beginning" for years and refer to it often. All I can say is that "Republic" is an unbelievable pleasure - tell me who to call to send in a contribution!!
      -- Tim D. Sutton - Burlington, NC

Dear Linda,
On 10/5/99, the Cedar Rapids gazette published as its Lead editorial what has to be the most scathing Editor's Opinion I have seen in years. (Literally) It was aimed at Pat and at his book. The title of the editorial was "Don't Mince Words: Buchanan Spews Bile." The veracity of this editorial is definitely out of character for this normally mild-mannered group. What follows this note is my reply to the Gazette. I can only hope that they will publish it in the Letters to the Editor section:

GAZETTE COVER BLOWN
My...My...My...Either someone on your editorial staff is a recent graduate from the Dershowitz School of Journalistic Name-Calling, or someone's shoes are too tight! Considering the content in your opinion on 10/5/99 about Patrick Buchanan's book and his candidacy, your title, "Buchanan Spews Bile," sounds a bit like the pot calling the kettle black. You really should read a book before criticizing it so vehemently. In a nutshell, Buchanan makes the same argument that many of our leaders during that period of time were making in an effort to keep American troops out of a European conflict. Nowhere in the book does Buchanan go soft on the maniac Hitler. In fact he has labeled Hitler as a racist, a pagan, etc. His stance on the effect lobbying groups for foreign countries have on American foreign policy is the same for all groups. He would prefer to see a foreign policy based on American interests instead of hyphenated- American interests such as Irish-American or Greek-American, etc.

I will give you credit. Over the last five years, the Gazette has done of good job of packaging itself as a progressive, open-minded newspaper willing to look at both sides of issues. In one fell swoop you just undid all of that work and have exposed yourself as being "in the bag" for the establishment politicians. I had noticed a sudden lack of any meaningful reporting on Mr. Buchanan so I'm not surprised at this editorial tongue-lashing. Your bias is showing and your "fairness cover" is in the ash heap along with everything else you have tossed there.
-- Dave Doyle - Iowa Brigade

Dear Pat,
You got my vote in '96 and will in '00. As a member of the Reform Party, I hope you choose to join us, either way I am with you.
-- Tyler Osler - University Administrator - Bethlehem, PA

Dear Linda,
When I heard Rush speaking about Pat Buchanan that way I could not believe it. It made me start to think about what Rush is doing. He cannot be that uninformed can he? When I think, how does he really keep his listeners informed, he watches the Sunday morning shows and reports to us!!!

I was glad when Pat was on the air with Rush. Pat Buchanan was great, he is sooooooo knowledgeable. Rush is no match for Pat Buchanan. When I saw the usual run of the mill on TV attacking Pat Buchanan in a strange way it made me feel good. It tells me that they are scared. I say good, they have been holding us hostage for to long with their hate rhetoric and using all our institutions to destroy America from within. They are power hungry people. We have children to think of and I intend to do everything in my power to help ensure that Pat Buchanan is the next President of the United States. God save America. Best regards,
-- Sally Gangi - New Jersey Brigade

Dear Pat,
Keep up the fight against the Globalists and their well paid flunkies in the Republicrat parties. America First!
-- Rick Batey - Technician - Renton, WA

Dear Linda,
As a loyal Buchanan supporter, I feel it necessary to inform you of yet another "oversight" regarding the positioning of Pat's book, A Republic, Not an Empire. Waldenbooks in the Rivervalley Mall in Lancaster, Ohio, has buried Pat's book in the stacks. Not one single copy occupies the more lucrative "New Hardcover" or "New Non-fiction" sections. When I asked the assistant manager and another worker about this oversight, they seemed utterly clueless about the book. Dan Quayle's new book was in the new section!! Nothing against Quayle, but, for Heaven's sake, he's not even in the running anymore!

Is it my understanding that Pat's book has made the NY Times Bestseller list? All the more reason for the book to be thrust in the front of the store, where more Americans can learn the truth about our history. Needless to say, I refused to patronize Waldenbooks and instead ordered a copy from Amazon.com (it was cheaper that way too!).
-- Jerry Cline - Patriot - Ohio Brigade

Dear Brigade,
Regarding Nightline's fictional account of a germ warfare attack on the U.S: if such a horror ever does happen, it will be because other countries hate the United States. And why do they hate us? Because we keep sticking our noses into their internal affairs and taking sides in their wars with others. George Washington was right and so is Pat...!
      -- C. Sanders - New Jersey Brigade
