BUCHANAN COMPLETES TEXAS BALLOT DRIVE
AUSTIN, TX -- Today, Presidential candidate Patrick J. Buchanan filed 128,894 signatures with the Texas Secretary of State -- more than twice the legally required figure to get on the Texas ballot. Surpassing the benchmark in what is considered the toughest ballot access state in the nation means Buchanan is the only third party candidate with the prospect of being on all fifty state ballots.
"This was a tremendous demonstration of enthusiasm and organization, and the culmination of weeks of very hard work by dedicated loyalists from New Jersey to Alaska," Mr. Buchanan said. "The two Beltway parties make it extremely difficult for competitors to challenge the duopoly, but our success in this petition drive shows that we are able overcome whatever obstacles they throw at us. We are determined to give the American people a real choice in November, and we shall."
Mr. Buchanan will deliver the signatures in person to the Secretary of State's office and file a back-up copy with the Fox News affiliate in Dallas.
