KOSOVO VOTE REVEALS BUSH, GORE
‘XEROX COPIES’
PHOENIX, AZ – Today, Presidential candidate Patrick J. Buchanan
released the following statement:
“With the aid of George W. Bush, President Clinton narrowly defeated
the Byrd Amendment in the Senate, 53-47, which would have ended the
U.S. military occupation of Kosovo in 13 months.
“Gov. Bush has revealed himself to be an interventionist in the Clinton-
Gore mold. On unrestricted access to the U.S. market for Beijing,
foreign aid, NAFTA, the WTO, the World Bank, the IMF, Bosnia, Kosovo,
NATO expansion, Bush and Gore are Xerox copies of one another. It is
of no consequence -- except to their job-seeking foreign-policy advisers --
which one wins. True conservatives have no business in a Republican
Party that abandons republican principles to heed the siren’s song of
global empire.
“The American people need a real choice, and only the Reform Party
offers it: A new foreign policy that puts America first, and that is
committed to bring all U.S. troops home to the country where they
belong.
“The 40 GOP senators and 7 Democrats who backed the Byrd
Amendment -- despite the wounded howls of our foreign policy elite --
have the potential to deconstruct the Bush-Clinton-Gore New World
Order. And the terrible anxiety of this capital city at the sudden
appearance of the Byrd Amendment shows that the globalists have failed
to capture America’s heart. Time is no longer on their side.”
