BUCHANAN DECRIES CLINTON 'INVESTMENT IN BEIJING'
CLEVELAND, OH --- Today, Republican presidential candidate Patrick J.
Buchanan released the following statement:
"According to the Financial Times, Communist China will be able to
deploy
a mobile ICBM with Made-in-the-USA warheads in three years. The Clinton
Administration, because of its emotional, political, and financial
investment in its 'strategic partnership,' with Beijing, is incapable of
serving any longer as custodian of U.S. national security."
"Too many Republicans have served as junior partners in appeasement," Mr. Buchanan added. "They have supported for too long a one-sided trade
policy that has given Beijing $274 billion in trade surpluses this decade.
This immense hoard of hard cash has enabled China to proceed with the
greatest military buildup in Asia since Imperial Japan in the 1930s."
"It is time the Republican Congress took control of China policy from an
inept and incompetent White House, and declared its unalterable opposition
to China's admission to the WTO, and its support for suspension of MFN for
China for the coming year. The American people, who are ahead of the
politicians on this issue, should begin a national boycott of all
made-in-China goods."
