BUCHANAN: SAD DAY FOR AMERICA'S WORKERS
DUBUQUE, IOWA -- Today, Republican Presidential candidate Patrick J. Buchanan released the following statement in response to the Senate's failure to even vote on the bill to halt illegal steel dumping:
"I profoundly regret that the Republican Establishment is so frozen in the ice of free trade dogmatism that it would turn a stone face to the legitimate request of American steelmakers and steelworkers for protection against illegal foreign dumping.
"The globalist ideology of Clinton/Gore may be triumphant in the Senate today, but tomorrow economic patriotism will again prevail in America."
