BUCHANAN NAMES WATSON LOUISIANA STATE DIRECTOR
BATON ROUGE, LA -- Today Republican Presidential Candidate Patrick J.
Buchanan announced that longtime conservative activist Dottie Watson will
join his campaign as Louisiana State Director.
Watson began her political career in 1980 with the Reagan campaign and
has
since worked on numerous local and judicial campaigns. A two-term member
of the State Central Committee, she was elected a delegate to the 1992 and
1996 Republican National Conventions. In 1996, she also coordinated the
Buchanan for President campaign in south Louisiana, which won seven of the
nine delegate slots for which she was responsible.
"I am honored to have Dottie on board," Mr. Buchanan said. "She is an
energetic organizer and experienced activist whose work in 1996 was
critical to our victory in the Louisiana caucus."
Dottie Watson lives in Metairie with her husband and five children and
attends St. Patrick's Church in New Orleans.
